Kristi Howton, founder of Infinity Group Insurance

Kristi Howton, CPRM

Founder and principal of Infinity Group Insurance in Frisco, Texas. The commercial insurance broker who answers her phone.

The agent who answers her phone.

When Kristi entered the insurance industry, she asked business owners a simple question: what do you like, and dislike, about working with your insurance agent? The answer she heard most was, “I can’t get them to answer the phone, and I only hear from them at renewal.”

She had spent more than a decade as a broker in the utility industry, where responsiveness was how you kept a client. So she built her insurance career on a straightforward promise: be the agent who answers the phone, and stay in the conversation past the sale, through claims, renewals and growth.

Experience.

Kristi has worked in commercial insurance since 2019. She worked within both large and boutique insurance agencies before founding Infinity Group Insurance in Frisco in 2026. Before insurance she spent more than a decade as a broker in the utility industry, where responsiveness was how you kept a client.

She works with executives and business owners to find where a business is actually exposed, then to mitigate and transfer that risk through planning and insurance. She holds the Certified Personal Risk Manager (CPRM) designation and is licensed in Texas, Louisiana, Arizona, Tennessee, Virginia, Colorado, California, Pennsylvania, New York and Ohio, with Oklahoma in progress.

Carrier relationships.

Infinity Group Insurance holds direct appointments with Hanover, The Hartford, Travelers, GUARD, Liberty Mutual, LIO, Philadelphia Insurance, Chubb, K&K, Texas Mutual, Kemper, Farmers and Progressive. That access is what lets Kristi match a business to the carrier that wants to write it, and call an underwriter she knows when a renewal needs more than a quote.

When something goes wrong.

One of her general contracting clients called while the fire department was still on site: lightning had struck a project a week from completion. Kristi moved quickly to expedite the claim, so the builder could focus on the project. If there is a loss, she is the one who gets the claim moving and stays on it with the carrier.

In the community.

Kristi has been a Rotarian since 2019 and serves as President of the Rotary Club of Dallas-Uptown. She also keeps a working network of business attorneys, CPAs, business bankers and HR professionals, so her clients have something like an outside board of directors, each expert in their own lane.

Questions we hear

The short versions of conversations Kristi has with business owners every week.

What is the difference between a commercial insurance broker and a captive agent?

A captive agent represents one insurance company and can only offer that company’s policies. An independent broker like Infinity Group Insurance holds appointments with many carriers, so the job is to find the carrier that actually wants to write your kind of business, not to fit your business into one company’s shelf.

What kinds of businesses does Kristi work with?

Small and mid-sized businesses across North Texas: contractors, restaurants, professional firms such as law, accounting and engineering, technology companies, real estate owners, wholesale and distribution, transportation and home services.

What is a CPRM?

Certified Personal Risk Manager, a professional designation focused on assessing risk and structuring coverage, not only placing policies.

Is Kristi licensed outside Texas?

Yes. She is licensed in Texas, Louisiana, Arizona, Tennessee, Virginia, Colorado, California, Pennsylvania, New York and Ohio, with Oklahoma in progress.

What does it cost to talk to Kristi?

Nothing. The first conversation is a free, no-pressure look at your business and your current coverage.
